Missions Supported by WPCC

Philosophy:
We desire to establish a long lasting partnership of personal involvement that allows Community Church to connect deeply with those who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ. This philosophy of depth over breadth opens doors to an on going presence of irresistible influence by helping to encourage, train and resource those in the field as well as provide a pathway to encourage our people to go themselves in short and long term missions.

Mission:
We desire to become a church of irresistible influence connecting with an unreached world through a heart for missions by...
  • Equipping and sending laborers into the harvest of God?s work.
  • Serving to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the lost and needy.
  • Helping establish and encourage new churches among those who have never heard the good news.
Strategy:
We desire to establish a strategic long lasting partnership in one state side location and two global locations.

This three-fold strategy includes...
A state-side Opportunity:
  • The goal is to provide an economical local (beyond Teller County) opportunity to experience cross-cultural ministry where we can develop a long-term relationship of irresistible influence that we can continue to nurture year after year. This project is to be viewed as an opportunity to influence people for the gospel and to expose church members to taste a cross-cultural experience. (Stateside)
A 3rd World Priority:
  • The goal is to develop an economical 3rd world opportunity to experience cross-cultural ministry where we can develop a partnership that we can continue to cultivate year after year. The purpose of this 3rd world opportunity is two fold:
    • To influence people with the good news of Jesus Christ and ...
    • To give people a missions experience that might lead to a deeper involvement in missions.
Our desire is that this long-term partnership would become a connecting point for missions abroad as well as a place where we can cultivate an irresistible influence within the same venue. (i.e. Central America)
A 10/40 Window Necessity:
  • The goal is to establish a partnership with others to assist in launching a church among an un-reached people group in the 10/40 window. This long-term relationship of irresistible influence would create an opportunity for believers to explore the possibility of relocating permanently to help staff this endeavor. Our desire is to send at least 3 families to live among this un-reached people group in the next ten years. (i.e. Asia)

Key Values/Definitions:
Partnership... We desire to establish a strategic partnership that will allow us to see the results of our engagement as well as have influence over the direction of the missions projects. We don?t want to be passive participants nor do we desire to just send money without involvement

Personal Involvement... We desire hands on opportunities for personal engagement for our people so that they can experience first hand the joy of being used by God in making a difference globally.

Leadership...The key to any ministry is effective leadership, therefore, we desire to focus our efforts on encouraging leadership training and development among our people as well as through indigenous peoples. 10/40 Window...We desire to reach into areas that have not been reached before. Our heart is to help take the gospel to ?every tongue and tribe,?( Revelation 14:6) which means a long-term strategic partnership in the 10/40 Window is a must.? Sending Laborers...We want to do more than expose people to missions. We desire to help send our people to invest long-term as missionaries to help reach the world. Church...We recognize that God intends for the church to be His primary instrument to reach a lost world, therefore, establishing and helping fund and staff a church is a significant goal among an un-reached people group. The 10/40 window is an area of the world that contains the largest population of non-Christians in the world. The area extends from 10 degrees to 40 degrees North of the equator, and stretches from North Africa across to China.
